Steve has been with Axio since January 2016, and oversees the provision of accounting, company secretarial and administration services to clients, focussing predominantly on a client listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange.
Steve prepares detailed accounting papers on complex IFRS matters on behalf of Axio’s clients, builds robust financial models to support these papers, and liaises with the clients’ auditors during their review. Steve also performs technical reviews to ensure clients’ financial statements comply with IFRS (or other chosen accounting standards), Listing Rules and other laws and regulations.
Steve has provided exceptional support on a number of transactions, including a sale of an operating business, a return of capital via a tender offer and an equity raise. Steve develops a close relationship with the clients’ management teams and advisers, as an integral part of the deal team, contributing significantly to the smooth running and efficient execution of project work. Prior to joining the client team in August 2017, Steve was responsible for internal finance and operations for Axio. Steve forms part of the compliance function and span of control of Axio and other regulated entities within the requirements of the Jersey Financial Services Commission.
Previously Steve worked as an internal auditor and financial accountant at a private family office in Jersey. He started his career in financial services assurance specialising in the asset management industry at Ernst & Young, working in Jersey and London. Steve is a Chartered Accountant, a professional member of the International Compliance Association and holds undergraduate degrees in physics from the University of Oxford and computing and mathematical sciences from the Open University.
